Website uptime monitoring for South Florida businesses

A website can go down at 2 in the morning and stay down for days. You might find out from a customer, or from the silence where the leads used to be.

Up is not the same as working

Your hosting company can tell you the server is on. That is not the same thing as your website working.

A server can hum along happily while the site on it falls apart. The database crashes and every page shows an error. A routine update breaks checkout. The contact form takes messages and sends none of them. From the host's dashboard, everything looks fine. From a customer's phone, your business looks closed.

  • The server answers but every page shows an error screen
  • The homepage loads but the contact form fails silently
  • A routine update breaks the cart or the booking form
  • The SSL certificate expires and browsers flash a warning
  • One page goes white while the rest look normal

What we watch

A basic uptime check pings the server and calls it a day. We watch the things that actually matter to your business, on a schedule that runs day and night, weekends and holidays included.

A site does not have to go down to be broken. It can fail one piece at a time without ever fully crashing, and drifting slower is often the first sign.

  • The site itself: does it load for a real visitor, not just a server log
  • The homepage and key pages: real content, or an error
  • The contact form: does a submission actually go through
  • The SSL certificate: caught well before it expires and scares people off
  • The domain name: renewal tracked so your name does not lapse out from under you
  • Speed: is the site drifting slower over time instead of failing all at once

What happens when an alert fires

An alert is useless if it lands in an inbox nobody reads. When one of ours fires, we open your site and find the real cause instead of forwarding you a log file and a shrug.

If you are on a maintenance plan, we fix it. If the fix is bigger than flipping a switch, we do the work on a copy of your site first, then ship it to the live site once it is right. If you are not on a plan, you still get a clear answer in plain English: what broke, why it broke, and what it takes to fix it.

We will not quote you a response time in minutes, because things break at their own pace and an honest timeline depends on what broke. What we do say is simple. When something goes wrong, you hear it from us, not from a customer who gave up trying.

Hosting and monitoring work better together

If your site lives somewhere else, we monitor it from the outside and that works. But when a client needs it, we can host the site on our own managed servers, which puts the watching and the fixing under one roof.

That matters when something breaks. The alert goes to the same people who hold the keys, so the fix does not stall while two companies sort out whose job it is. And if you want your hosting to stay right where it is, we can set up uptime monitoring with alerts on its own.

Built for owners who have better things to do

You should not have to check your own website every morning to make sure it still exists. That is our job. SoFlo Web Services is part of J.M. Field, a Fort Lauderdale company that has served South Florida businesses since 1993. We work on WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, and custom sites built by anyone.

Questions

My hosting company says they monitor uptime. Am I covered?

They monitor their server. You need someone watching your website. A host can report all systems normal while your pages throw errors and your contact form sends nothing. We check the site the way a visitor experiences it.

If something breaks, do you fix it or just tell me?

Both are options. On a maintenance plan, we fix it. Off a plan, we still tell you exactly what broke and why, in plain English, and you decide how you want it handled.

Can you promise my site will stay up?

No, and be careful with anyone who says they can. Updates go sideways and certificates expire. What we offer is narrower and more useful: when something goes wrong, an alert fires and you hear it from us before customers start asking questions.

Does it matter what my site is built on?

No. We work on WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce, and custom sites built by anyone. If customers can visit it, we can watch it.
