Our work: a Fort Lauderdale rebuild, measured

Here are the lab results from the J.M. Field rebuild. They show one real before and after, not a prediction for your site.

Animation of our measured lab result (median of 3 runs), timed in real seconds. Same jmfield.com homepage, same throttled mobile connection.

The Starting Point

The J.M. Field website ran on an old WordPress build. That is the detail we are sure of, so that is the detail we are using.

Full disclosure: SoFlo Web Services is part of J.M. Field, a Fort Lauderdale company serving South Florida businesses since 1993. This case study is family. We lead with it because it is the rebuild we know best, and because a dated test beats a vague claim.

What Changed, At The Level We Can Prove

We rebuilt the J.M. Field website. We are not going to pad that with technical trivia we cannot document.

What we can tell you is how we handle this kind of work on any site we take on. The point is not to impress you with jargon. The point is to find what is slowing the page down, fix it safely, and explain it in plain English.

  • We test on a throttled mobile connection, because phone traffic is the harder test.
  • We work on a copy first, then ship to live after you approve the new version.
  • We explain the cause of each slow page in plain English.
  • The free speed audit names your 3 slowest pages and what is slowing each one, within one business day.

The Numbers

Here is the lab test, dated 2026-10-09, run on the same throttled mobile connection before and after the rebuild.

The main content appeared sooner in the rebuild's lab test. That is the clean takeaway, and we are leaving it there.

  • Old WordPress build: main content showed at 10.8 seconds.
  • Rebuild: main content showed at 1.2 seconds.
  • Test type: lab test on the same throttled mobile connection, dated 2026-10-09.

What Those Numbers Do Not Mean

These results do not predict results for another site. Your outcome depends on your pages, your hosting, your images, your scripts, and the people actually visiting you.

Speed is one factor in search, not a magic switch. A faster site can help visitors and can help how Google reads the experience, but it does not promise rankings by itself.

Also know the difference between a lab test and field data. A lab test is controlled, like the one above. Field data comes from real visits. Google field data uses a rolling 28-day window, and each metric is read for mobile and desktop separately. A rebuilt URL can keep older field data for a while. A brand new page needs enough real visits before data appears.

How To Read Any Speed Report

Three terms show up a lot. LCP is when the largest visible image or text block appears. INP is how long the page takes to visibly respond to taps, clicks and key presses. CLS scores how much the page unexpectedly moves, during and after loading, the kind that make a button jump right as someone tries to tap it.

When you read a pass or fail line, ask what sits under it. The honest version is based on real visits for each metric, split for mobile and desktop, not one lucky run on fast office internet.

If a report dumps a score on you with no page list, no cause, and no connection type, you are holding a headline, not a diagnosis. A useful review should say which pages hurt, what is dragging each one, and what should be fixed first.

What This Means For Your Site

We work on WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce and custom sites built by anyone. If your site is slow, the first move is not a rebuild speech. It is a look at the pages that cost you the most patience.

Call 844-310-9720 and ask for the free speed audit. You get the 3 slowest pages and what is slowing each one, within one business day. After that, you decide what happens next.

Questions

Will my site get numbers like these?

Not as a promise. These are lab results from the J.M. Field website rebuild. The free speed audit shows your 3 slowest pages and what is dragging each one, within one business day, so you can decide with facts.

Do you only work on WordPress?

No. We work on WordPress, Shopify, WooCommerce and custom sites built by anyone.

Will my site go down while you work?

We work on a copy first, then ship to live after you approve the new version. That keeps the work off your live site until the replacement is ready.

Why do you test on a throttled mobile connection?

Because a slowed mobile connection is the tougher test. If the important content shows up well there, the report is telling you something useful.

How do I get my site checked?

Call 844-310-9720 and ask for the free speed audit. You get your 3 slowest pages and the reason each one is slow, within one business day.
